What is FitSpring & How can it help you?
Free: 1st 60 days training plan
Who is FitSpring for?
This program is for you if you are over 40 and don’t want to become fragile, weak or live in pain.
Fitness training is the most valuable thing you can do to improve your chances of living a long, healthy life. We’re combining all the elements you need in one place and making it really easy, and free.
Elements of fitness we train & why:
- Strength & muscle mass: Improves your chances of surviving a fall or accidents. Your body’s only protein store. Protects you against metabolic diseases like diabetes. Provides the work capacity to lift and move things. Want to look toned? You need muscle mass.
- Mixed modality: A fun way to train muscular endurance, heart health, functional movement patterns and so much more.
- Zone 2 cardio: Necessary to build an athletic heart, good circulation and healthy muscles
- VO2 max sprints: Lowers chance of all cause mortality. Each rep pushes the grim reaper away.
- Mobility: Cos life sucks if you can’t get your socks on
- Joint stability: Critical for staying injury & pain free.
- Jumping and Landing: Gentle impact is great for bone, ligament, tendon and connective tissue health.
- Agility: You don’t get to choose when you need to dodge a bus.
- Coordination: Resist neuro-degeneration, also not dropping your phone in the loo, catching stuff that falls out of cupboards before it smashes, basically making you look like Spider-Man.
- Balance: Avoiding a slip or fall is better than surviving one.
- Lack of balance leads to the spiral of decline:
- A fall leads to a minor injury (broken wrist, ribs, collar bone etc.).
- This leads to a loss of confidence, you start moving much slower. Confidence, bone density & muscle mass drops.
- You fall again and this time sustain a major injury (hip, shoulder etc.), need a big operation, spend some time in hospital and de-train even more. Bye bye muscle mass and bone density.
- You lose confidence in your movement ability and balance.
- You start moving like an old person which speeds up the spiral.
- Your family get concerned and you get shunted into sheltered accommodation and pray for an early death just to get you out of old people’s bingo.
- Half of all over 65s who break a major bone will die within a year.
What is the benefit to me?
You’ll feel better, look better, live longer, have a lower chance of dying from a preventable disease, you’ll have a lower chance of developing debilitating muscle or bone density loss. You’re more likely to keep your mental faculties and enjoy a higher quality of life, even into your old age.
